Former England and Arsenal defender Kenny Sansom is ill in hospital.

The 61-year-old does not have coronavirus, according to a tweet from his Twitter account.


A Twitter message came to confirm that 61-year-old is not suffering from infection with the Coronavirus and that he is undergoing treatment and necessary care by health care workers.

He started his career with Crystal Palace, and played Sansom twice in the World Cup Finals, in both 1982 and 1986, and won the League Cup with Arsenal in 1987. Sansom won nearly 86 international matches with England and 394 games with Arsenal, in addition to Other than that, he played with Newcastle, QPR, Coventry, Everton, Brentford and Atford before retiring in 1994.


In 2015 Sansom revealed that he had considered suicide after losing his shelter due to the problems he had faced with alcohol and gambling addiction. In the same year, he received help from the Professional Football Association, to enter the detox program.
