Keke Palmer Urges National Guard to March with Protestors
Keke Palmer seemed to strike up a meaningful conversation with National Guard soldiers on Tuesday, April 1. speaking out against the rhetoric of President Donald Trump and calling for armed officers to march with the protesters.
In a clip that has now gone viral, released by NBC News correspondent Gadi Schwartz on Tuesday afternoon, Palmer can be heard for the first time in a May 29 tweet from President Donald Trump in which he wrote "when the looting begins, the shooting begins.
"There's a president who talks about the Second Amendment as a way for people to come back here and use guns against people who protest. This is often the message we see," he says. You have to focus on what's happening. We have a president who is trying to incite a race war and when the borders are closed We can't leave. There are people here who are asking for your help. This often happens when you and everyone can support the community, with society, to avoid government oppression. Period. We like you "
At that moment, one of the soldiers said, "I accept as truth with you." Then he asked, "March with us. March with us. Take your people. March with us. Let the revolution be broadcast on television. March with us and show us that you are here for us. Roll in the hay. We start marching and you march with us.
The crowd, many of whom surrounded the scene with phones to record the action, began to cheer, clap and sing: "March with us!"
Then another soldier explained that he was not allowed to leave his post under orders to regulate that section, so he offered to march down the block through the next intersection. "It will send a great message," Palmer replied. When he said he also had to watch the companies, she said, "I'm lost.
Then another woman asked an equivalent soldier to ask for a knee, which she did.
Here is how it played out:
